OPEN SOURCE · CROSS-PLATFORM COMPILER & RUNTIME

Classic ASP,
without the OS lock-in.

OpenASP brings the familiar Classic ASP compiler & runtime to Linux, MacOS and Unix. Keep your `.asp` code and leave the Windows Server and IIS dependency behind.

THE OPEN ASP RUNTIME

Bring legacy code to
modern infrastructure.

OpenASP combines an Egret language frontend with a native C runtime, VBScript page execution, FastCGI serving, OpenASP.MySQL and OpenASP.Redis, ADO-compatible data access, the OpenASP.OpenAI AI interface and mmap-backed AOT loading.

UP AND RUNNING

Launch your
first ASP app in three steps.

Build OpenASP from source, choose standalone rendering, the stateful CLI or FastCGI, then point the runtime at your site root.

01

Get OpenASP

Install Egret 0.1.6 and the build dependencies, then build openasp, openasp-cli and openasp-fpm from source.

02

Point to your site root

Keep your existing `.asp` pages and set `--root` to the physical site root; Nginx and FastCGI must use the same directory.

03

Start FastCGI

Start openasp-fpm and let Nginx, Egret-web-server or another gateway forward `.asp` requests; shell and process execution are disabled by default.

$ openasp-fpm --root /srv/www/example --host 127.0.0.1 --port 9000 Copy command
BUILT FOR THE LONG RUN
